EAC - Girl Child Network, Kenya

EAC - Girl Child Network, Kenya

I read this and I couldn't help but fell angry, annoyed, disappointed and yet sorrowful to the children. It is shocking as it sounds; boy forced to be a husband and father at the age of 16 and girl forced to be wife and mother at the age of 13. That is the same kind of story the children in my village will give when they get older if something is not done. It is up to all of us to change their story and that can only happen if we educate them today.

Help educate tomorrows heroes

In my village, live some poor people. Some are HIV positive and others have completely no hope in life. The problem comes in when children get affected. Some end up as orphans or even single parented. The government offers free education for these angels but it is their parents duty to provide school necessities.
These include the school uniform, school bag-pack, exam fees and general class tools. It hurts me that some of their parents and guardians don't care at all. Some girls even have to miss school when they have their monthly period simply because their parents cannot afford sanitary towels.
My goal is to provide these simple things that will make a great differences in the children's lives.I want to see them ran to take a shower because they are excited about wearing the school uniform,to see girls going to school all through the term with no fear of being embarrassed and to make them smile because they know they have what it takes to pass the class.
My audience will be all the families in which the children come from and anyone who is ready to sacrifice their time or anything they have to make these children s dreams come true.
My dream came true,I believe these children deserve a chance to make their dreams flourish too...
